Accessibility Statement

What we have tested, what we know is not right yet, and how to reach a human if something on this site blocks you.

The short version. We aim at WCAG 2.2 Level AA and we are close, but not fully there. This page names the gaps we know about rather than claiming we have none. If something stops you using the site, email us and we will fix it and answer you directly — you should not have to work around it.

1. What we are aiming at

GiftBoxes LLC aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across giftboxes.ae. We treat that as a floor for a site whose main purpose is letting someone send us an enquiry: if the enquiry form cannot be completed with a keyboard or a screen reader, the site has failed at the only job it has.

2. Conformance status

Partially conformant. Most of the site meets WCAG 2.2 AA. The exceptions we know about are listed in section 4. We say “partially” deliberately — automated testing finds only a minority of accessibility barriers, and we have not yet done the manual and assistive-technology testing that would justify a stronger claim.

3. What we have actually tested

A full audit was carried out on 28 September 2026 using axe-core (via Google Lighthouse), which scored the site 93 of 100 for accessibility before the fixes below were applied. Alongside it we checked, by hand:

  • Every image carries alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Exactly one h1 per page, with a correct heading order beneath it.
  • A skip-to-content link that becomes visible on keyboard focus.
  • Form fields have real labels, and errors are announced rather than only coloured.
  • Animation — the moving headline and the scrolling band — stops for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
  • Touch targets meet the recommended 44 px.
  • The page language is declared as en-AE.

Fixed on 28 September 2026 as a direct result of that audit: the assistant button’s spoken name did not contain its visible label, so voice control could not activate it; the statistics block used a description list incorrectly, which made a screen reader announce each label twice; and the large scrolling band sat at 1.18:1 contrast against a 3:1 requirement.

4. What we know is not right yet

  • Automated coverage is not complete. The audit scanned key pages rather than all 104. Individual product pages share one template, so a fault in it would repeat — but we have not verified every page individually.
  • No assistive-technology user testing. We have not yet tested with people who use screen readers, switch access or voice control daily. Automated tools cannot tell you whether something is usable, only whether it is technically labelled.
  • No independent audit. The assessment was a self-assessment.
  • English only. There is no Arabic version and no right-to-left layout, which is a barrier for Arabic-first users in our own market.

5. If something blocks you

Tell us and we will fix it. Please say which page you were on and what you were trying to do — that is usually enough for us to reproduce it.

We aim to reply within two working days. If the barrier stops you sending an enquiry, tell us what you need and we will quote you over email or WhatsApp instead — you should not lose the quote because of a defect on our side.

6. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 28 September 2026 following a self-assessment of giftboxes.ae against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, combining automated testing with the manual checks listed in section 3. It is reviewed whenever the site changes materially.
