800gsm
The lightest board we will wrap. It works, it holds a lid, and it feels like packaging. Appropriate where the box is a shipping carrier or where per-unit cost is the binding constraint at high volume.
1000gsm
The middle option, and a reasonable default for event and staff gifting. The lid has weight to it and the walls do not flex under a thumb.
1200gsm
What we specify for client and executive gifting. A 1200gsm lid closes with a sound rather than a click, and the difference in unit cost against 1000gsm is usually two to four dirhams. For anything going to a senior recipient this is not a cost decision.
Where weight does not help
Board weight cannot fix a bad insert. A 1200gsm box with contents that move sounds cheap the moment it is picked up. Spend on a die-cut or foam insert before spending on board.
